A note from the Artist:

Too often we just keep our head in the sand. To the world, to the things we don’t want to deal with, to the realities of life.

Just because we want something to be a certain way, does not mean it is that way, or that you can change it to be so! Some things just are the way they are.

For me, I oftentimes will see a problem that no one has moved and thing “Well, I can fix it!” - even if it is an impossible problem. While that certainly promotes healthy self-esteem (thinking anything is possible and you can fix any problem); sometimes it leads you to trying to push a giant boulder up a never-ending hill…

“Waking Up” is about not just waking up spiritually to the world - but opening yourself up to the possibilities that exist once you embrace how things are, how you CAN influence those things, instead of trying to change the things you cannot change.

There are so many areas of life where that realization comes to us, in different forms.

The idea of something that I cannot change - was really a foreign one for me, for a very long time - and I STILL have issues with realizing which things I really cannot change. I always thought that with enough patience and hard work that anything was changeable or fixable - this certainly leads to a lot of slamming the head into the proverbial wall moments…

Waking up truly has a lot of layers - it’s not just the immediate and obvious. It’s the layers underneath. And with the excavation of each of these layers, we truly uncover another layer underneath to deal with. Waking up to ourselves, waking up to the intentions of others, waking up to the reality that is perceived by everyone else, waking up to the reality that is perceived by you - and you alone, waking up to the reality of your sphere of influence and where you can put your energy… Waking up to the opportunities that are right in front you, and waking up to the opportunities that are just around the corner - if you’re paying attention.
